BUNCH OF PROJECTS COMING SOON!!

I’ve been gathering all my electronics projects and I’m currently getting them ready to share them here. I’ll make shure all the documentation is fine before I publish those, because I always end up making last minute changes and generaly I don’t put those changes on the originals.
So after all is nifty, clean and EE-kosher I’ll start posting projects such as:
- SIMPLE SERIAL PIC PROGRAMMER
- PIC REMOTE CONTROL LIGHT DIMMER
- METAL DETECTOR
- SIMPLE AVR PROGRAMMER
- SLIGHT MOD OF ADAFRUIT’S SPOKE POV
- USB TO SERIAL WIRELESS
- USB PIC PLC
- AND MORE!!!
SO, TELL YOUR NEIGHBORS AND HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS! SGTECH IS COMING TO TOWN!!….
Yet Another Spanish Translation!
A few weeks ago I finished translating to spanish the “Soldering is Easy” comic that came from the awesome minds and effort of Mitch Altman, Andie Nordgren and Jeff Keyzer. The translation was kindly accepted and posted on Jeff’s blog, where a fellow translator Juani_C, also posted his version of the comic.
After that, I remembered the ORIGINAL one-page comic made about a year ago by Andie, and that I’ve seen on Mitch’s site the various comic translations where there wasn’t a spanish one. So I thought “Hands at work”, and started to translate the single-page version to spanish. This evening I’ve finished the last adjustments and send it to Jeff and Mitch and now you have it here! Enjoy!

Microchip MASTERs Argentina 2011
I’m thrilled to let you know that Microchip has announced the new edition of the Microchip Masters Conference along with the Microchip Design Challenge that gives the contestants the oportunity to win an iPad and prizes for $10.000.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to attend this year nor enter the Design challenge, because on the same week I’ll be at the TOPFOT (Optics and Photophisics Workshops and conferences). Over and Out…

Microchip Inside
Would it be OK if I put this sticker on my devices?, or will the Intel guys get all “uuuh, I’m tellin’ my lawyer!” about it?
Would this be a good example for an english class, you know, to teach the kids inside, outside, on top, behind, and all that sesame street crap?
If I accidentaly eat a PIC18f4550 because it drops into my Ham and Cheese sandwich, would it be OK for me to wear a t-shirt with this logo?
Like any philosopher I have no answers, only questions. Althoug I’m certain that eating a 18f4550 won’t be a pleasent experience, that thing has a lot of pins.
Over and Out….
Let’s start from the beginning

For everyone who’s starting in electronics and is eager to build amazing things out of simple parts, there’s one skill it has to master: SOLDERING. Most of us learned to solder by trial and error, making all the mistakes or by watching friends making them, without any source of theory or guide whatsoever. But today’s begginers have a ton of information at the tip of their fingers, and now, thanks to Mitch Altman, Andie Nordgren and Jeff Keyzer a comic book that teaches them how to solder.
The comic, that teaches the basics about how to solder in a simple and engaging manner, was originaly a one page thing and also made by Andie Nordgren as a way for her to share what she had learned (and/or rediscovered) from Mitch Altman‘s 5 minute course on how to solder, at the Music Hack Day London.
So a few days ago I saw in Jeff Keyzer‘s blog that they where encouraging people to translate the comic, so I volunteer myself to do so. Half way to the thing I saw that there was anoher spanish translation on the making, and tried to establish a collaboration, but in a matter of two days I had the whole thing already translated. Long story short, a few hours after my anouncement about having finished the translation , Juani_C posted his own. So here’s the link to both translations:

TI-Nsc Merge
A few weeks ago it was announced that Texas Instruments had bought National Semiconductor. Of course this was kind of a shock for the EE comunity because we are talking about two of the most relevant and historical manufactures on the industry, and a lot has been said about how this is going to affect the costumers of both companies. As soon as the news spread TI posted a document explaining their intentions and their promise to the NSc costumers that this won’t affect them and that they’ll keep the companies as two different things. But, as experience has shown us in the past, it’s very likely that the management eventually decides to make a merge including name change and the whole thing.
If you’re interested on a smart analysis about this situation in particular and Silicon Valley’s in general I highly recommend you to reed this post and others from the same author and Editorial Director of EE Times’ EE Life community, Brian Fuller.
So, being aware of this situation I wondered for hours and hours how would they will market themselves after a merge but still trying to preserve the original identity of both companies?, so this is what I came up with:
